Beverley has over 30 years legal experience principally in the areas of litigation and commercial law. Prior to becoming a partner at Cantle Carmichael, Beverley was a partner at two medium sized Hunter based law firms for over 13 years.

Beverley’s primary areas of practice involve:

  • managing litigation on behalf of self-insured corporate clients;
  • particularly public liability, workers compensation and contractual indemnity disputes across all jurisdictions in Australia;
  • proactive claims management advice and training to client personnel; and advising corporate and private clients in relation to commercial disputes.

Scott has over 20 years experience in the areas of commercial litigation, risk and workplace law. He has worked for a number of national law firms, serving as a partner of two national firms for 10 years.

After leaving private practice in early 2012, Scott worked as Group General Counsel for a diversified group of mining, engineering and investment companies. He returned to private practice as a partner with Cantle Carmichael in January 2013.

Scott’s primary experience is delivering services to corporate clients in relation to:

  • workplace law:
    • employment contracts, award and industrial legislation interpretation, workplace bargaining and termination strategies
    • defence of claims for unlawful/unfair dismissal, discrimination and general protections litigation
    • workplace risk and WHS compliance as well as defending workplace prosecutions in NSW, Victoria and Queensland
    • contracting agreements
  • business disputes:
    • shareholder and partnership disputes;
    • disputes in federal and state jurisdictions with respect to breach of contract, IP infringement, debt recovery and insolvency;
  • proactive risk management and governance advice, compliance auditing and governance

His experience also extends to representation of numerous Australian and international insurers in relation to occupier’s liability, liability of public and other statutory authorities, defective goods and other trade practices litigation in Australia and New Zealand.

Scott has been a Director of Hunter Primary Care since 2015.
